Our wildlife team has been busy training Puku the pukeko to come running at the ring of a bell. Not only is this super adorable to watch, but it’s also important, too. Having Puku respond reliably to her special "bird bell" helps us quickly carry out health checks, head counts, or safely manage any emergencies in the park.

Turns out the ‘treats’ help, too!

Kea are highly curious and super smart, which means they need plenty of enrichment to keep their active minds busy. Our wildlife team is always coming up with new ways to entertain (and challenge) them, so naturally, we decided it was time to introduce them to their first musical. Starting strong with a classic, of course!
