At Kiwi Park, conservation is all about protecting what matters most. As a family-owned and operated business, we also believe in looking after our community, especially when one of our own needs support.
On Sunday 16 August, we invite locals and visitors alike to join us for A Day for Dylan – a special day where all proceeds made at Kiwi Park that day will be donated to support young Dylan and his family as they face an incredibly difficult journey.
Meet Dylan
In January 2024, just days before his third birthday, Dylan was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer that changed his family’s lives forever.
Over the following 16 months, Dylan underwent intensive chemotherapy, major surgery, radiation therapy and immunotherapy. Through every stage of treatment, he showed extraordinary courage and resilience.
When treatment finally came to an end, his family allowed themselves to hope again. Dylan returned to doing the things every child should be able to do – playing with friends, spending time with family and starting school.
Sadly, in May this year, Dylan’s cancer returned.
Relapsed neuroblastoma is an aggressive disease with very limited treatment options available in New Zealand. Dylan has now begun treatment once again while his medical team explores overseas specialist treatment and clinical trial opportunities.
This cause is incredibly close to our hearts at Kiwi Park. As a family-run business, we know how important it is to support one another through life’s toughest moments, and we wanted to do what we can to help give Dylan every possible chance at a brighter future.

How you can help
On Sunday 16 August, Kiwi Park will be open as usual from 9:30am to 5:00pm, but every visit will make a difference to Dylan.
Whether you’re a local looking for a meaningful day out or a visitor wanting to see a kiwi in Queenstown, your visit will directly support Dylan and his family.
Spend the day exploring our beautiful five-acre native wildlife sanctuary, meeting New Zealand’s incredible wildlife, and knowing that your visit is helping make a difference to a local family.
If you are a local and already hold a Kiwi Park annual pass and would like to donate, we will have a donation box and Give a Little QR code at reception on the day.

Can’t make it?
If you can’t join us on the day but would still like to support Dylan’s journey, you can donate directly through his Givealittle page:

Every donation, no matter the size, helps Dylan and his family access vital treatment and specialist care.
Thank you for helping us rally behind one brave little boy and his wonderful family.
We hope to see you at Kiwi Park on Sunday 16 August for A Day for Dylan.
