Interested in Getting Involved?

Our dedicated team of volunteers play a huge part in the day to day running of the park and we are always keen to take on enthusiastic and hard working helpers!

What to expect

  • Cleaning aviaries

  • Food preparation and distribution

  •  Helping with enrichment programs

  •  Animal observation

  • LOTS of washing dishes!

  •  General park maintenance: graveling pathways, weeding etc.

  •  Native tree planting

  • Leaf litter collection

Requirements

Due to the training time required, we are currently looking for those who can commit 1 day per week for at least 4 hours.

We ask for a minimum of 3 months, but the longer you intend to stick around the more we can teach you!

Happy (belated) Halloween! 🎃 We know we're about a week late, but we couldn't resist sharing this adorable video of Mayhem enjoying some treats. Remember, while possums are pests that harm our native ecosystems, they aren't monsters. In New Zealand, they find themselves in an unfortunate situation beyond their control. With the help of our resident pair (Mayhem and Chaos), we aim to shed light on their story, promoting understanding and compassion for all creatures, even as we support the vital conservation efforts to protect our native birds and wildlife. #wildlife #conservation #newzealand #aotearoa
